From Wednesday 30 September, we will permanently close Forfar Street on the north side of Warrington Street intersection. This area will become a signalised T-intersection.
We will also be working on Forfar Street at Westminster Street intersection, reconstructing Forfar Street to be narrower and creating a raised road hump. This work will start from Wednesday 30 September for approximately three weeks, 7 am - 7 pm.
From Wednesday 30 September:
- Forfar Street will be closed on the north side of Warrington Street permanently.
- Forfar Street will be closed on the south side of Westminster intersection for approximately three weeks.
Detours will be in place using Mayfield Avenue or Mersey Street. We apologise for the disruption.
Please be on the lookout for changes to traffic management and follow the signs.
Warrington St / Forfar St intersection
Thanks for your patience over the weekend as we worked to pave the Warrington/Forfar intersection. We have completed the majority of the road rebuild here, except for the final asphalt layer and a section of pavement on the north side of the intersection.
With the road closure in place, we will be able to work on the north side, changing this to a T-intersection. This work includes new footpath, pavement, kerb and channel, traffic signal installation and landscaping.

We have completed the stormwater replacement at Westminster/Forfar intersection. We will work to narrow the south side of this intersection, reconstruct the footpaths, lay pavers and landscape, reconstruct the road here and build a raised hump.
