Night Works: Scheduled Road Work

SH1 Carmen Rd / SH1 Main South Rd - starting 8 pm Monday 10 January 2022 for two weeks

What:    Night work: Removing damaged road surface and replacing with new asphalt

Where:  SH1 Carmen Rd / SH1 Main South Rd

When:    From 10 January 2022 for two weeks (8 pm to 6 am) no work on Saturday nights

What we are doing

We are milling off a layer of the existing road surface and replacing it with new asphalt. This will make the intersection more pleasant to drive on and live near.

Traffic Impacts

Traffic management will consist of temporary speed limits, contraflows, Stop/Go, and local detours for eastbound and westbound traffic.

Some entrances to the intersection will be closed, and a detour posted.

On-street parking will be removed.

Resident Impacts

Because SH1 is a busy road we must do this work at night. The work will be noisy and you may notice vibrations or bright lights. These are unavoidable.

We will keep noises that are under our control to a minimum such as talking instead of shouting.

Emergency services and bus services will have access at all times.

You may need to select another route to access the state highway. Your property may be closer to the closure than our road-closed signs, so if you will be using your car after 8 pm maybe keep a copy of this notice on the dashboard to remind you.

It is impossible to cover everything in a work notice.

If you require specific information, or you think there is something we should know, please contact us using the details below.
