Interruptions on the Southland State Highway network
Highways South continues with essential maintenance of highways in Southland during this Level 4 lockdown. We are grateful to our crews for continuing with this work and we are minimising (and where possible eliminating) physical interactions among staff and with customers and have strict hygiene and safety measures in place. We would appreciate that people do not put our crew or their families at risk by approaching them during the current lockdown. Please call 0800 4 HIGHWAYS with any state highway concerns and we'll follow these up promptly. We appreciate your help with this.
Next week there will be the following essential maintenance happening on Southland highways:
Any third-party work on state highways will be limited to be essential activities only, and all other sites shut down ensuring they remain safe for the duration of the lockdown period
The works are weather dependent so timing may alter based on this. There is usually a temporary speed limit of 30 km/h at each site, please slow down (including when the sites are unattended) so all our crews can get home safe to their families each night, and so that repairs on the highways take hold. Thanks, we appreciate your patience at these sites!
Please stay safe and well and look after each other.
