SH96 reopened after crash

State Highway 96/Glencoe Highway near Waitane in Southland has reopened after a truck crash this afternoon. People are asked to travel with care on this route.
3pm – SH96 now closed after crash
State Highway 96/Glencoe Highway is now closed between Te Tipua School Road and Brydone-Glencoe Road intersections in Southland, following a truck crash near Waitane.
A detour is available: westbound traffic should use SH96, turn left on to Te Tipua School Road, right on to Brydone-Glencoe Road, then left back on to SH96. The reverse applies for eastbound traffic.
2.45pm – Crash impacting travel on SH96 in Southland
Road users are being warned of delays after a truck crash this afternoon on State Highway 96, near Waitane, in Southland that has resulted in a blockage of the highway.
Emergency services are at the site of the crash, near the Miller Road intersection with SH96/Glencoe Highway. With at least part of the road being blocked, and the potential for a closure, people are advised to avoid the area or delay their travel if they can.
