A stretch of State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway’s northbound lane will be closed overnight tonight for urgent repairs to flexible median barrier.

The northbound lane, between Meeanee Road and Kennedy Road, will be closed between 8pm and 2am. The work may be completed earlier – please keep up to date with NZTA’s Journey Planner.

Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Meeanee Road, Lee Road, Gloucester Street, Kennedy Road and onto Taradale Road. This detour is suitable for all vehicles.

The southbound lane will remain open as normal.

During this closure, crews will be repairing approximately 100 metres of damaged flexible median barrier.

Emergency services will always be assisted through the site if required.
