Ground conditions and poor weather have extended the time it will take to complete drainage improvements on State Highway 2 Remutaka Hill, with works to continue next week.
The drainage works are designed to better protect the highway from water runoff and bad weather.
Stop/Go traffic management and a 30 km/h temporary speed limit will remain in place at the work site 24/7 from Sunday night until next Wednesday morning, weather permitting. Drivers may also be asked to stop upon request if required.
Road users can expect short delays when travelling through the work site and should allow extra time for their journeys when travelling between Upper Hutt and Wairarapa.
Works Schedule:
- Sunday to Wednesday, from 9 pm Sunday night to Wednesday morning – 24/7
- Stop/Go traffic management and 30 km/h temporary speed limit
- Expect short delays
