Road users should expect short delays on State Highway 2 (SH2) near Herepuru Road, Matatā, while scaling and blasting work is carried out to make the road safer and reduce the risk of slip debris reaching the state highway.

From midday today, traffic on SH2 will be held in both directions for intervals of approximately 10 minutes to ensure vehicles are clear of the area while this work takes place.

The work may continue through to Friday, between 8am and 5pm each day. A temporary speed limit of 50km/h is in place near the site.

Road users are asked to allow extra time for their journeys, follow the directions of traffic management staff and approach the area with care.
