Stop/stop traffic management will be in place at Awatere River Bridge on State Highway 35 south of Te Araroa for two nights later this month.

The work will take place on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 November between 7pm and 5am.

During that period, Chorus will be installing fibre ducting alongside the bridge.

The single lane bridge will be temporarily closed when the hiab is in use. Work will stop on the hour, every hour (from 8pm both evenings) to let any waiting traffic through.

People using the bridge can expect delays of up to an hour when the stop/stop traffic management is in place.

This work depends on various factors and may be amended or rescheduled. In the event of work not being completed as scheduled the contingency dates of Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 December will be used.
