As the road maintenance season comes to an end, we’re letting you know about the last 2 scheduled maintenance activities on State Highway 2 (SH2).

Chapel Street on-ramp and Elizabeth Street roundabout

The final asphalt resurfacing for the season on Takitimu Drive will take place over night Sunday 17 May, from 8pm to 5am. These works will affect only the inside southbound lanes between the Chapel Street on-ramp and the Elizabeth Street roundabout. There will be a reduced speed limit in place while the work is taking place.

Various locations on SH2 Maunganui Road and the Tauranga Eastern Link between Spur Avenue and the Sandhurst overbridge

The road surface will be refreshed in several short sections along SH2 between Spur Avenue and Sandhurst overbridge from Monday 18 May for 3 nights between 7pm and 6.00am. Temporary traffic management including lane closures and a reduced speed limit will be in place throughout the duration of these works at night.
