State Highway 25 (SH25) between Discovery Drive and Simpson Beach and the SH25 intersection of Wade Road is now closed due to flooding.

The locations of these closures mean Whitianga is unable to be accessed via SH25 from north or south.

Crews are onsite however it is likely that flooding will not recede until after high tide at approx. 10am.
