Lower North Island/Upper South Island - Planned state highway roadworks

Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- The All Blacks will play South Africa at Sky Stadium in Wellington on Saturday night. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and to be ready for extra traffic before and after the game
- Road rebuild and drainage works at Ōhau start on 21 September.
- There will be a night closure on State Highway 58 September between Haywards Hill and Pāuatahanui this Sunday night. Drivers can also expect to see improvements to the double roundabouts at the Transmission Gully interchange from 23 September
- In the Hutt Valley, work on the State Highway 2/Moonshine Hill Road intersection improvements begins and Wellington Water begins its Silverstream Water Bridge and Shared Path project which will affect traffic on State Highway 2.
Top of the South Island
- There will be three weeks of daytime closures on State Highway 6 Spooners Saddle to allow forestry storm recovery work from 22 September, and slip repairs continue at State Highway 6 Dellows Bluff
- Resilience works on State Highway 6 Whangamoa Saddle are paused as the project prepares to move to its next phase. There will be no stop/go traffic management on the route until the project resumes. This is anticipated to happen before the end of the month. Updates will be provided before the project restarts.
