Maintenance work next week on West Coast may cause disruption

Work due to take place at different sites on the West Coast next week could cause some disruption to travel, and New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is urging road users to be aware and plan ahead.
Drainage maintenance, vegetation control and retaining wall maintenance will take place over two sites between Dobson and Stillwater on State Highway 7 next week. Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes due to traffic management at these sites. A detour is available via Taylorville Road, but this is not suitable for overweight vehicles.
On State Highway 6 between Haast and Makarora, essential rock scaling work is due to take place at Orman Falls and Depot Creek from Monday 28 July through to Friday 5 September. The road will be closed from 7am to 4pm each day and will open every hour, on the hour, to clear traffic.
We thank people for their patience as this work is completed. People can check our Journey Planner site for the latest information on state highway conditions.
