8:30am update
Drivers travelling between Richmond and Nelson are warned to expect delays and disruption this morning following a truck crash at the State Highway 6/Quarantine Road roundabout.
Due to a logging truck rollover, the northbound left lane at the roundabout is blocked – the incident was reported shortly before 6:30 am.
Emergency services and contractors are at the scene. Lane detours are in place, and the adjacent cycleway has been closed to allow fallen logs to be removed.
Work to recover and remove the truck will happen after 9 this morning. This will require the northbound lanes of State Highway 6 to be closed between the Quarantine and Annesbrook Road roundabouts.
Northbound drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes on local roads until this work is complete. Travel delays can be expected until the crash site is fully cleared.
