The Wellington Transport Alliance and Wellington Water will carry out combined works on State Highway 58 in Paremata next Sunday (7 September).

Road crews will replace a streetlight and remove a tree stump, while Wellington Water will complete water hydrant repairs.

This work will take place between the SH58/SH59 interchange and Postgate Drive and is scheduled for Sunday night, 7 September, from 9 pm to 4 am.

It will require a full closure of State Highway 58 between the interchange and Postgate Drive. Local road detours will be available (see map below) but will require extra travel time.

Access will be available for emergency services and affected residents. Residents in the closure zone can liaise with work crews for access but must follow a 30 km/h temporary speed limit in the works area. This helps ensure work crews are kept safe.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption for drivers and residents. The work has been scheduled for nighttime when traffic volumes are lower, and efforts will be made to control construction noise.

Drivers are asked to observe all traffic management in place and follow all temporary and local road speed limits while these works are completed.
