The dates for the night works between Northcote Road and Esmonde Road have changed. The work will now take place from 3 August to 10 August, with extended shifts on Friday 7 August and Saturday 8 August.

During these hours, the southbound lanes will be fully closed, and lane restrictions will be in place on the northbound carriageway.

A contingency shift has also been scheduled for Tuesday 11 August.

Road users can expect night-time delays later this month while NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) carries out stormwater improvements to help prevent flooding and improve safety on State Highway 1 (SH1) between Northcote Road and Esmonde Road.

The works will take place nightly from 10pm to 5am, from Tuesday 28 July through to Monday 3 August. During these hours, the southbound lanes will be fully closed, and lane restrictions will be in place on the northbound carriageway.

To complete the works, extended work hours from 10pm to 6am will be required on the nights of Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August.

Southbound motorists should exit at Northcote Road, Akoranga Drive and follow the detour to Esmond Road where they can re-enter SH1.

Nearby properties may experience increased noise levels while works are in place.
