Night works - SH16 between Great North Road (Waterview) & Patiki Road

Road users can expect night-time delays during road surface maintenance on State Highway 16 (SH16) between Great North Road and Patiki Road. 

There will be a full westbound closure over six shifts between Sunday 7 and Sunday 14 June from 10pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursdays.

When the closure is in place:

  • traffic travelling from SH16 Waterview to Patiki Road: Please use the recommended detour via Great North Road, Ash Street, Rosebank Road and Patiki Road
  • traffic travelling from SH16 to SH20: Please use the recommended detour via Great North Road, Blockhouse Bay Road, Tiverton Road, New Windsor Road and Maioro Street. 

State Highway 20 (SH20) northbound to SH16 eastbound link and SH20 northbound to SH16 westbound link will also be closed as part of the closure. 

On Monday 15 June, there will be a full eastbound closure between Great North Road and St Lukes Road. The SH20 northbound to SH16 eastbound link and SH20 northbound to SH16 westbound link will also be closed as part of the closure. 

When the closure is in place:

  • traffic travelling from SH20 to SH16 eastbound: Please use the recommended detour via Maioro Street, Stoddard Road, Richardson Road, New North Road and St Lukes Road
  • traffic travelling from SH20 to SH16 westbound: Please use the recommended detour via detour via Maioro Street, Tiverton Road, Blockhouse Bay Road, Great North Road, Ash Street and Rosebank Road.   

Nearby properties may experience increased noise levels while the team complete the work. 

These works are weather dependent and may change from the advertised dates. 

Contingency dates for the eastbound closure are scheduled for Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 June. 

If any westbound shifts between 7 and 14 June are cancelled due to weather, they will be rescheduled between Monday 15 and Wednesday 17 June. Only one direction will be closed at a time during these works.
