Nighttime stop/go planned for State Highway 58 next week

More repairs and maintenance are planned for State Highway 58 next week which may affect residents and regular users of the highway.

Contractors will be completing washout repairs, minor paving works, and streetlight replacements, and vegetation control that were not able to be completed during the recent night closures of the highway.

Geotechnical investigations will also be done to check ground conditions at a site where a slip occurred during the April severe weather event.

Work will be underway on the route between the State Highway 1 Transmission Gully and State Highway 2 Haywards interchanges on Sunday to Thursday nights (7 – 11 June) between 9 pm and 4:30 am.

Night works have been chosen to complete the work when traffic volumes are lower. This means they are less disruptive for drivers and the public.

Because fewer vehicles use the route at night, significant traffic delays are not expected. However, residents and road users should allow extra time when travelling on the highway.

Works schedule

  • Sunday 7 June to Thursday 11 June. 9pm – 4.30am
  • Stop/Go traffic management for SH58 maintenance
  • Expect short delays.
