Road rehabilitation coming up on SH16 – expect delays

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi | 24 Feb 2026 12:53pm | Auckland

Road users should expect delays with road rehabilitation coming up on State Highway 16 (SH16) between Woodhill Park Road and McPike Road. The team will be rebuilding the road structure from Monday 2 to Sunday 8 March on a section approximately 335 metres long between 1155 and 1163 State Highway 16.

Traffic will be able to travel along SH16 in both directions but there will be stop/go traffic management and temporary speed restrictions in place.

While the rehabilitation is necessary, we appreciate that it will impact motorists and residents, with delays expected and increased noise for nearby properties. Traffic management will be there to assist vehicles to and from their properties when required.

These works are weather dependent and may change from advertised dates. Contingency dates will be the following week between 9 and 15 March 2026.
