Forecast rain across the remainder of this week means the scheduled work to rebuild SH30A Amohau Street has been postponed until next week.
Investigations to identify any potential ground issues that need to be addressed ahead of the main works starting will take place as planned tonight with the 2 westbound lanes closed from 8pm to 5am.
All 4 lanes will be open overnight for the remainder of the week.
Rebuild work will begin next week, weather permitting, with the 2 eastbound lanes closed Sunday to Thursday (open Friday and Saturday nights). The road will be open during the day under a temporary speed limit.
Crews will be setting up and packing down an hour either side of the closure times. Vehicles will still be able to travel through, however there may be delays.
The work is expected to continue through until April.
