A stretch of State Highway 2 in Central Hawke’s Bay is closed following an earlier serious crash.

State Highway 2 between Fraser Road and Maharakeke Road between Takapau and Waipukurau is closed. 

A detour is place.

Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Fraser Road, then left onto Oruawharo Road, then left onto Maharakeke Road, before rejoining State Highway 2. 

The reverse applies for southbound traffic.

Please expect delays through the area and drive to the conditions.
