SH 5 Napier-Taupō Road reopens following earlier serious crash

State Highway 5 Napier-Taupō Road has reopened following a serious crash earlier today.
The crash was reported around 9 am and the road has been closed since earlier this morning.
The Police Serious Crash Unit has completed its scene examination and the road has now reopened.
Road users are advised to drive with care and expect possible delays while congestion eases.

Drivers can expect the Napier-Taupō Highway (SH5) to remain closed for most of today following a serious crash on the route this morning.
The crash was reported around 9am.
The Police Serious Crash Unit is at the crash site and the highway is expected to remain closed while its scene investigation is underway.
There are no available local road detours and State Highway 5 is closed between Napier and Taupō. Drivers should avoid the area or delay their travel.
