8:30pm update – SH1 clear again after flooding

State Highway 1 between Bowler Avenue and Eccles Street in Gore is fully open again following flooding on the road.

Road users are asked to drive with care.  

8pm update – Partial SH1 closure in Gore due to flooding

Flooding has partially closed State Highway 1 in the Southland town of Gore.

The southbound lane closure is in place on SH1 between Bowler Avenue and Eccles Street. The northbound lane remains open.

A detour is available to southbound traffic: People should turn right into Bowler Avenue, left onto Ardwick Street, left onto Eccles Street and back onto SH1. Allow extra time for travel.
