Update: 10.25am – SH1/Dunedin Southern Motorway reopened after crash

Both northbound lanes on State Highway 1/Dunedin Southern Motorway at Burnside have reopened following a vehicle crash this morning.
The crash involving two trucks blocked one lane, and a second had to be closed while vehicle recovery took place. This has heavily impacted traffic.
8.55am: Truck crash restricting travel on SH1 in Dunedin
A crash involving two trucks this morning on State Highway 1/Dunedin Southern Motorway is impacting northbound traffic.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash about 7:20am, near Kaikorai Valley Road.
Initially a single northbound lane was closed, but now the second northbound lane is also being closed to allow for vehicle recovery. Road users should expect both northbound lanes to be closed for at least an hour for this recovery to take place.
