SH1 fully reopened at Hampden

State Highway 1/Herbert-Hampden Road in North Otago has fully reopened following a serious crash this morning.
Road users are asked to take extra care travelling in the area just north of Hampden, and some delays can still be expected along this route as congestion eases.

As emergency services continue their work at the site of a serious crash in North Otago, closure points have been confirmed for State Highway 1/Herbert-Hampden Road.
The SH1 closure applies between the intersections Mile Flat Road and Findlays Road.
Police’s Serious Crash Unit is working at the site and road users are urged to delay travel and avoid the area will the closure is in place.

Road users may face delays after a crash on State Highway 1/Herbert-Hampden Road, just north of Hampden in North Otago, this morning is reported to be blocking the road.
The crash near the intersection with Mile Flat Road is being attended by emergency services and is reported to involved trucks.
