Drainage work and asphalt repairs are coming up on State Highway 11 (SH11) at Pahia, starting in in early April.

Work will take place between MacMurray Road and Kings Road, between 7am to 6pm, and is expected to take around 3.5 weeks to complete, from 7 to 30 April.  

SH11 will be closed northbound at all times (24/7) through the work area, with the southbound lane remaining open. Northbound traffic will be detoured via MacMurray Road and Kings Road, rejoining SH11 at Marsden Road. In the last few days of the project, stop/go traffic management with a single lane closure will be in place at the SH11/MacMurray Road intersection.

Travel delays are expected to be less than a few minutes.

The work includes installing a new drainage channel between the road and car parks to improve rainwater runoff and prevent surface damage, along with resurfacing of the car parking bays located south of the Kings Road/SH11 intersection and asphalt repairs on SH11 itself.

The car parking bays form part of the work area and will not be available for the duration of the project. Visitors to Paihia can park north of Kings Road and walk to the businesses on this block. Access for residents and vehicle access to hotels in the area will be maintained throughout the works.

There will be increased noise during work hours.

Please treat our crews with kindness and respect. Reduce your speed, adhere to the temporary speed limits, and follow the directions of traffic management staff and signs.
