The State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway and Omahu Road roundabout in Hastings has been reduced to a single lane temporarily while wastewater improvements are completed.

The inside lane of the roundabout in all directions is closed until further notice due to unforeseen issues on Hastings District Council’s wastewater improvement project. 

We anticipate this will cause delays for drivers travelling through the roundabout in all directions. 

Crews will be monitoring traffic queues.

Digital billboards are now in place warning of the temporary change to the road layout and advising drivers to use alternative routes. 

A temporary speed restriction will be in place.
