State Highway 2 (SH2) Waioweka Gorge, past the Goldsmith slip site, will open 24/7 under stop/go for Easter. There will be no overnight closures for 5 nights from 6am Thursday 2 April through to 8pm Tuesday 7 April.

Night closures will resume Tuesday 7, Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 April between 8pm-6am and open daily under stop/go between 6am-8pm.

From 6am Friday 10 April the gorge will remain open 24/7 under stop/go, with closures only when necessary.

When stop/go is in place, motorists should expect delays of up to one hour.

Please continue to drive with care, it’s a challenging area and there is still loose material on the hillside. Be prepared, the road may need to close at short notice if conditions change.
