Please note that all lanes REOPENED overnight and the road is fully open.

Due to a slip, State Highway 2 through the Waioweka Gorge is blocked in both directions, just south of the Goldsmith site.

Contractors are on site now, however we expect it will be some time until a lane is fully reopened and stop/go traffic management is put in place.

People are urged to delay travel where possible or allow plenty of extra time for long detours either via State Highway 35 or State Highway 5.
