A stretch of State Highway north of New Plymouth will be closed for a time this morning for urgent tree removal work.

The road between Princes Street and Nelson Street will be closed from 9am til 11am.

A detour will be in place.

Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Nelson Street, right onto Mclean Street, onto North Street and Richmond Street before turning right onto Princess Street, then left back onto SH3.

The reverse will apply for southbound traffic.
