State Highway 35 at Wharekahika/Hicks Bay has reopened this morning

The road was closed last night following a slip near Wharf Road on Sunday night. It was open briefly yesterday afternoon.

The road has reopened following an onsite assessment

Please expect delays of up to 30 minutes and plan your journey accordingly.

Crews are monitoring the area and please also expect the possibility of further short-notice notice closures if there is more movement.
