State Highway 36 (SH36) Tauranga Direct Road will be closed overnight between Te Matai Road and Dudley Road for resurfacing works next week.

Closures will be in place from 8pm to 5am, Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 May, with Thursday 28 May as a contingency if required.

During these times, there will be no through access between:

• Te Matai Road (Rotorua-bound)
• Mangorewa Gorge (near 974 Tauranga Direct Road, Tauranga-bound)

Detour in place

All vehicles should use SH2 Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road and SH33 via Paengaroa to travel between Tauranga and Rotorua.

Local access will be maintained for residents within the closure area. Road users are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time. This work is weather dependent and may be postponed.
