State Highway 29 lower Kaimai Range – expect delays on Thursday (29 January)
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi | 28 Jan 2026 10:54am | Bay of Plenty
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is advising people travelling on State Highway 29 (SH29) in the lower Kaimai Range area to plan ahead for short delays on Thursday 29 January while components for a large crane that will help build the new Ōmanawa Bridge are brought onto site.
Trucks will be arriving through the day, from 9.30am, and will need to reverse onto the eastern side of the site due to limited space.
To ensure the safety of workers and road users, traffic management will be in place during each delivery to allow the trucks to safely enter the site.
The project to build the new bridge and road realignment is part of the SH29 Tauriko West Roads of National Significance project.
NZTA thanks everyone for their patience while this important work is carried out.
