State Highway 6 fully reopened with speed restriction

4.30pm update: 

State Highway 6 between the Lower Buller Gorge and Inangahua has now fully reopened after a closure because of a slip this morning.

It was initially reopened this afternoon to one lane under traffic management after the slip was cleared. Both lanes are now open, but a 30km/h speed restriction is in place. Motorists are advised to take care driving through the area.

Heavy rain has put pressure on the roading network around many parts of New Zealand today. 


12:20pm update:

 State Highway 6 between the Lower Buller Gorge and Inangahua has reopened to one lane after a closure because of a slip this morning.

The road is under stop/go traffic management and motorists should expect minor delays through the area.

A slip has forced the closure of State Highway 6 between the Lower Buller Gorge and Inangahua this morning.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area, use alternative routes or delay travel if possible.
