Upcoming events in South Canterbury will mean the temporary closures of state highways.

Tomorrow (Saturday), State Highway 8/Main Road in Pleasant Point, between Khan Street and Tengawai Road, will be closed from 10am to 3pm for the Get to the Point family fun day and market. 

A local detour will be available in Pleasant Point via Munro Street, Harris Street, Halstead Road, Greig Street and Tengawai Road. The detour is suitable for all traffic and is expected to add five minutes to travel times.

On Friday 14 November, State Highway 79/Talbot and Cox Streets in Geraldine, between Hislop and Peel Streets, will be closed from 6am to 5.30pm for day one of the Harcourts Geraldine Festival.

 A southbound detour is available in Geraldine via Peel Street and Hislop Street. Northbound traffic can detour via Hislop Street and Jollie Street. These detours are suitable for all traffic and are expected to add five minutes to travel times.
