A small stretch of State Highway 2 near the intersction with Paritu Road at Bartletts / Wharerata will closed for one hour between 6pm and 7pm to recover a truck’s trailer unit.

Earlier today the truck rolled and the trailer ended up in a ditch – the road was not closed.

Crews will use the hour closure tonight to remove the truck’s trailer from the area and clear the road before reopening to traffic.

We know this short closure will be disruptive, especially given the importance of the road getting and out of Gisborne currently.

However, crews will be working as quickly as possible, and have delayed the closure to avoid early evening traffic.
