The State Highway 1 Alfriston Road overbridge between Scotts Road and Magic Way in Manurewa will be closed overnight from Sunday 18 to Wednesday 28 October between 9pm and 5am.      

A full closure of the bridge is required in both directions as part of regular maintenance to ensure it remains in good working order. 

The following detours will be in place and will add approximately 5 minutes to travel times:

• Eastbound traffic: Detour via Claude Road, Hill Road and Stratford Road.
• Westbound traffic: Detour via Stratford Road, Hill Road and Claude Road.

Alternatively, road users can travel via Alfriston Road, Great South Road and Porchester Road. This route will add approximately 9 minutes to journey times. 

Vehicles travelling under the bridge on SH1 will not be affected. 

Works are weather dependent, with contingency shifts scheduled for Sunday 1 and Monday 2 November 2026 and will be utilised if required.
