State Highway 2 (SH2) road users are being advised of upcoming overnight resurfacing works, with several sections of the state highway scheduled for renewal over the coming maintenance season. The first section will be at Aongatete, programmed to start on Monday 31 August and will take place over 4 nights between 10pm and 5am.
To keep road workers and road users safe while work is underway, stop/go traffic management will be in place at work sites. A temporary speed limit of 30km/h will apply through the work area. This lower speed helps protect workers operating close to live traffic while also reducing the risk of damage to vehicles travelling through the site.
Drivers should expect short delays while crews complete the work and are encouraged to allow a little extra time for their journeys. Those wishing to avoid potential delays may wish to travel outside the work hours where possible.
The work is weather dependent and may be postponed if conditions are unsuitable.
