State Highway 1 at Greta Valley in North Canterbury has reopened after a truck breakdown earlier this morning.

With the broken-down vehicle recovered, the road is clear again, but people are still asked to travel with care on this route.

9.20am – Heavy vehicle breakdown closes SH1

Part of State Highway 1 in North Canterbury is closed this morning because of a heavy vehicle that has broken down.

SH1/Greta Road, in Greta Valley, is closed south of the intersection with Stonyhurst Road.

Road users are advised to avoid the area or delay their journey. An update will be provided when the status of the road changes.
