Night closures for resurfacing of State Highway 1 in the Christchurch suburb of Hornby will start a day later than planned.
The first closure of SH1/Carmen Road in both directions, from Main South Road to Waterloo Road, will now be from 9pm tomorrow (Thursday 20 November), rather than tonight (Wednesday 19 November). The 9pm to 5.30am night closures will now run through until Tuesday 25 November.
While these night-time closures are in place, a detour will be available via Waterloo Road, Racecourse Road, Lowther Street and Main South Road.
Following these closures, there will be closures of SH1/Main South Road between the intersections of Shands Road and Chalmers Street from 12am to 5am on Wednesday 26 November-Thursday 27 November (finishing up Friday morning). For these closures, the detour will be via Parker Street and Waterloo Road.
People should plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra time for travel. We thank people in advance for their patience and understanding while this important and necessary work is carried out.
