State Highway 1/Waipahi Highway, at Pukerau near Gore in Southland, is closed following a crash involving powerlines.

The road is closed between the intersections with Mason Road and Coalpit Road/West Street.

People are asked to delay their journeys or to use an alternative route. Follow directions provided at the site.
