State Highway 6/Winton-Lorneville Highway between Orion Road East and Flora Road East has reopened after a crash earlier this evening. 

People are asked to take care travelling on this route.

7.40pm – SH6 near Invercargill closed by crash

State Highway 6/Winton-Lorneville Highway, north of Invercargill, is closed tonight following a crash.

The highway is closed at Makarewa between Orion Road East and Flora Road East. 

A detour is in place: Northbound traffic should turn right onto Flora Road East, left onto Actaeon Road, left onto Orion Road East and back onto SH6/Winton-Lorneville Highway. The reverse applies for southbound traffic. The detour is only suitable for light vehicles.
