UPDATE: 9.55pm – SH1 near Invercargill reopens after crash

State Highway 1/Woodlands-Invercargill Highway near Longbush, just out of Invercargill, has reopened following a truck crash.
Repairs were required to a power pole damaged in the crash.
People are asked to drive with care through the area.
4pm – Crash closes SH1 near Invercargill
A vehicle crash on State Highway 1/Woodlands-Invercargill Highway near Longbush, just out of Invercargill, has closed the road.
Police say officers were called out following a truck hitting a power pole on the highway, near the intersection with Grace Street, and the damaged pole will require repair.
SH1 is closed between Kennington Roslyn Bush Road and Grove Bush-Woodlands Road intersections.
A detour is in place. Westbound traffic should turn right onto Grove Bush-Woodlands Road, then left onto Lorne Dacre Road (SH 94), then turn left on to Roslyn Bush Road and back on SH1. The reverse applies for eastbound traffic.
Road users should expect delays. An update will be provided as the status of the road changes.
