The crash has been cleared and Sate highway  58 has reopened between Postgate Drive and James Cook Drive.

The highway was closed for approximately one hour while emergency services and contractors resolved the incident.

Drivers travelling on SH58 between the SH1 Pāuatahanui interchange and SH59 Paremata roundabout  can expect delays and local road detours following a crash in the area this morning.

The highway is closed in both directions between Postgate Drive and James Cook Drive.

The incident was reported shortly after 9 am. Emergency services and contractors are attending.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use an alternative route.

A local road detour is available via Postgate Drive, Spinnaker Drive, Discovery Drive, James Cook Drive, and Joseph Banks Drive. Drivers should allow for extra travel time while using this route.
