Resurfacing night works resume at the Ngauranga Interchange next week, and drivers are urged to be ready for them.
This continues work done at the site last month. The resurfacing ensures the road’s surface at the well-used interchange remains safe and resilient for the thousands of vehicles that travel through it every day.
Due to the heavy machinery involved, and for safety reasons, the ramps must be closed while work is underway.
The work has been specifically timed to take place at night when traffic volumes are lower, but drivers will have to use detours and can expect travel delays.
On Wednesday, 4 March and Thursday, 5 March, 9 pm to 4:30 am, contractors will resurface the SH1 southbound off-ramp at Ngauranga Interchange.
Drivers wanting to exit SH1 at the Ngauranga Interchange southbound off-ramp will need to continue on SH1 and exit at Aotea Quay.
This work is weather-dependent and schedules may change. Drivers are encouraged to check road conditions before they travel.
