Part of State Highway 1 between Wairuna and Clinton in South Otago is now closed following a serious crash.

SH1/Waipahi Highway/Presidential Highway is closed between the intersections with Wairuna Siding Road and Clydevale Road. Road users are advised to avoid the area or delay their journeys if possible. Emergency services and contractors for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi are at the crash site.

11.25am – SH1 in South Otago affected by serious crash

Part of State Highway 1 in South Otago is blocked, and people are urged to avoid the area following a serious crash this morning.

The crash happened on SH1/Waipahi Highway/Presidential Highway near the intersection with Springbank Road, between Wairuna and Clinton. Emergency services are working at the crash site.
