Work is continuing at SH2 Takitimu with arborists continuing to clear unstable trees. Weather depending, it is expected that at least one lane should be able to open later tonight.

Work is likely to continue into tomorrow (Sunday 25 January), with a lane and/or shoulder closure to continue. An update will be provided tomorrow. People can expect delays.

Recent weather events have caused some trees along SH2 Takitimu Dr to become unstable. Crews are working today to clear the trees and make the road safe.

SH2 Takitimu Southbound lanes, between Eleventh Avenue and Fifteenth Avenue will be closed on Saturday 24 January to allow this work to occur. It is expected this work will be completed late Saturday afternoon or early Saturday evening. An update will be provided.

Detour:

• For people heading towards Bethlehem, exit SH2 at Eleventh Ave, then turn right on to Cameron Rd, then turn right on to Fifteenth Ave, then turn left to re-join SH2.
• For people heading towards Tauriko, exit SH2 at Eleventh Ave, then turn right on to Cameron Road, then turn right at the roundabout at SH29A (Barkes Corner). Alternatively, use SH2 and join SH29A at Baypark.
