A stretch of State Highway 3 at Midhirst in Taranaki has reopened following an earlier crash. The road was closed between Kent Terrace and Beaconsfield Road. NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi recommends motorists travelling in the area continue to drive to the conditions and expect delays as congestion eases.

A stretch of State Highway 3 at Midhirst in Taranaki is currently closed following an earlier crash. The road is closed between Kent Terrace and Beaconsfield Road.

A detour is in place for light vehicles only. Southbound traffic is being detoured left onto Kent Terrace, then right onto Beaconsfield Road before rejoining SH3. The reverse applies for northbound traffic.

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi recommends motorists travelling in the area delay their journeys or use the alternative route. Please drive to the conditions and expect significant delays through those alternative routes.
