State Highway 2 is now open in both directions following this afternoon’s crash.

A change has been made to the detour route and road closure points at this crash site.

State Highway 2 is now closed between Wiltons Road and Hughes Line, and the new detour route is via Hughes Line.

Efforts to reopen the highway are continuing.

4.20pm:

State Highway 2 is closed in both directions between Hughes Line and Wiltons Road following a crash earlier this afternoon.

The incident, which was reported at around 3:45 pm, has seen a car collide with the highway’s safety barriers.

Emergency services and contractors are attending, and efforts are underway to clear the crash site and reopen the road.

A local road detour is available via Chester Road and Wiltons Road, but this will require extra travel time.

Drivers must follow all instructions from emergency services and contractors, follow the recommended detour route, and expect travel delays in the area until this incident is resolved.
