A stretch of State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway has reopened following an earlier crash.

The expressway closed between Pākōwhai/Links Road roundabout and Evenden Road roundabout after a caravan flipped earlier this morning.

A crane has now removed the caravan and the road has been reopened.

Please continue to drive carefully through the area while any possible congestion eases.

11.07am:

A stretch of State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway has now closed following an earlier crash.

A caravan has flipped, blocking the expressway near the Pākōwhai/Links Road roundabout.

Initially the crash closed the sounthbound lane; however both lanes are now closed between the Evenden Road roundabout and Pākōwhai/Links Road roundabout.

Please use alternative routes and drive to the conditions.
