State Highway 2 between Ōtāne and Pakipaki has reopened after a crash earlier this afternoon.

The road had been closed between Higginson Street and Stock Road.

A detour was in place during the closure.

Please expect delays as congestion eases through the area.

4.13pm - Serious crash closes stretch of SH2 Central Hawke’s Bay

A crash has closed a section of State Highway 2 between Ōtāne and Te Hauke in Central Hawke’s Bay.

The road is closed between Drumpeel Road and College Road.

Emergence services are on site and the Police Serious Crash Unit will be attending.

Please avoid unnecessary travel if possible. A detour is in place – please follow directions from onsite crew.
